One of my 2012 projects was to overhaul the Nissan’s interior. This meant, a new steering wheel, new gauges, and new electronics. I opted for a 330mm Personal Neo Grinta for the wheel, 60mm HKS Power gauges (mounted in a Carbon Fiber Kognition Radio Delete), and an ARK Design Advanced Boost Controller, Rev Shift Timer, and Multi Function Dash.
ARK Design’s products are fairly unknown in the UK, but from what little I could find online, they looked good. Simple in appearance and function, afforable, and being Japanese, hopefully fairly reliable.
I ordered a Multi Function Dash (MFD), Advanced Boost Controller (ABC), and Rev Shift Timer (RST) from Ark Design USA (now closing up shop, unfortunately). I got them sent directly to Toby Broadfield, who specialises in custom interior work. I sent him my HVAC panel, with a brief to mount the three electronics, and make it look factory. He did an excellent job, and documented the whole process on his blog. You can read the build HERE.
He sent back the panel, with ARK products mounted. He also sent all the packaging that came with the ARK products; I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve never seen aftermarket products as nicely presented, especially considering their midrange price point.
Now I just need to get it all hooked up! Expect a review for all 3 products as soon as I do.
