Barry’s Celica GT4
You may notice from these photos that this GT4 sports two different sets of wheels. This is because the photos were taken over a number of different days, and Barry uses the 3-spoke Enkeis for his track work, and the Compomotive MOs as his daily wheels.
When Barry bought his Celica GT4, he took is straight to WRC Technology to check that the engine was running perfectly. They discovered that the map was quite rich, and Barry could afford to safely run more boost. With this in mind, he bought a Greddy Profec B spec 2 electronic boost controller and set it up at 1.1bar high boost, and 0.8 bar low boost. To go along with this, WRC Technology installed a Unichip to fine tune the fuelling. The car was now more powerful, but it needed help stopping. The Celica GT4 has adequately large brake discs and calipers, so Red Stuff pads were installed to help the car stop more efficiently.
To help the GT4 breathe, Barry installed a decat and full Mongoose exhaust system. To help monitor the engine, an oil pressure, oil temp, and boost gauge were mounted in the cabin. A Greddy turbo timer was also installed to help the car cool off after a long run. The car was then stripped of most of its interior, and Edenz seats were added with sabelt harnesses.
To aid the car’s handling, Tein S-Tech springs and KYB dampers were installed, along with Whiteline anti-roll bars. This drastically improved the GT4’s handling, both on the road, and on the track.
